Public Cloud for Heavy EWM with MFS (Material Flow System)

The push for S/4HANA Public Cloud is relentless, and smaller warehouses run perfectly fine on it. But if you operate a highly automated distribution center with conveyors and cranes driven by EWM MFS...

Applicable Systems: SAP S/4HANA Public Cloud vs. Private Cloud / On-Premise.

Verification Link: SAP EWM Material Flow System (MFS) Architecture

[HARD RECOMMENDATION] Do not touch the Public Cloud edition. MFS requires sub-second latency to communicate with PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers). The internet latency inherent in a Public Cloud architecture will cause micro-delays, leading to routing errors, crashed pallets on conveyors, and physical bottlenecks. If you run MFS, you must stay on Private Cloud or On-Premise decentralized EWM.
