Advanced Shipping & Receiving (ASR) Reality

The era of the standalone SAP EWM Transportation Unit (TU) is rapidly closing. SAP is aggressively pushing Advanced Shipping & Receiving (ASR), which tightly couples EWM with Transportation Management (TM) directly at the Freight Order (FO) level.

[HARD RECOMMENDATION] If you are migrating from LE-TRA directly to decentralized EWM and basic TM, do not attempt to map legacy TU flows. Adopt ASR from day one. It requires intense retraining for warehouse key users on the new Fiori interfaces, but it definitively eliminates the constant data synchronization errors between EWM and TM delivery objects.
